Dymista Nasal Spray Description

Dymista Nasal Spray is prescription strength medication to relieve the symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis in adults and children six years old and up. The spring, summer, and into fall can be filled with sniffing, sneezing, itchy noses, and congestion as these seasons bring flowers, trees, and grasses into bloom. Unfortunately, this can send you indoors to escape the miserable symptoms of seasonal allergy rhinitis. Dymista Nasal Spray contains two active ingredients; Azelastine HCl and Fluticasone Propionate that can reduce your symptoms so you no longer have to hide from enjoying the outdoors.

How the Active Ingredients Can Bring Allergy Relief

Azelastine HCl works directly on your nasal membranes binding to histamine receptors. This action does not actually stop the release of histamine from mast cells, but it does prevent other allergy chemicals from being released and stops an increase in the blood supply to that area. Fluticasone Propionate is a synthetic corticosteroid that will help to minimize any inflammation in your nasal passages by stopping the cells in your nose from releasing the chemicals that cause inflammation so you can breathe better.

Conditions Treated by Dymista Nasal Spray

The more common name for seasonal allergic rhinitis is hay fever. This name originated because symptoms of sneezing, runny nose, and watery eyes would occur to some people around haying season. Although you may have hay allergies, it is most likely that pollen is the allergen causing your symptoms.

As you breathe in the pollen from the air, an antibody called immunoglobulin E (IgE) is alerted and it will attach to mast cells as a defensive move. The mast cells then release histamine whose job it is to cause your nose to run and eyes to water so you sneeze. By causing all of this, histamine is helping your body expel the allergen. Dymista Nasal Spray will not cure your seasonal allergic rhinitis, but it can bring you relief from the symptoms and allow you to enjoy the seasons.
