ACULAR LS EYE DROPS (KETOROLAC)

Acular Eye Drops Description

If you have made the decision to have corrective laser eye surgery and be free of wearing glasses or contacts, your doctor may prescribe Acular LS Eye Drops 0.4% for after-care while you are recuperating. This will take care of reducing pain, burning, or stinging sensation as well as decrease any inflammation of your cornea. It is extremely important that you do not touch the applicator on the bottle to your eye and with your fingers as you risk an infection.

What is Ketorolac?

The active ingredient of Acular LS Eye Drops is Ketorolac, a non-steroidal anti inflammatory drug also known as an NSAID. When administered as directed, Acular LS Eye Drops will work to inhibit the production of inflammatory chemicals, such as prostaglandins. These chemicals are sent to the affected area as an immune response to an injury or threat and use inflammation as part of the healing process. However, inflammation causes inflammation so healing will still take place but with less inflammatory symptoms that can cause pain and swelling.

Conditions Treated by Acular LS Eye Drops

LASIK (laser in situ keratomileusis) eye surgery is probably the most well known procedure for correcting near/ farsightedness (myopia and hypermyopia), astigmatism caused by abnormal corneal curvature, and presbyopia that can occur in older people as elasticity of the lens decreases. A specialized excimer laser is used to access under the corneal flap to reshape your cornea to correct refractive errors and allow you to see unassisted by glasses or contacts.

Before Acular LS Eye Drops is Prescribed

Ask your doctor if Acular LS Eye Drops pose any risk if you are pregnant, may become pregnant, or are breast feeding. Tell your doctor about other medical conditions or allergies you have and list any OTC or Rx drugs you currently take or use, including alternative and complementary meds. Your doctor can then determine if Acular LS Eye Drops are safe for you to use.
