Cutivate Ointment is a potent corticosteroid product that is best applied to very dry and scaly skin areas as it is able to hold moisture in better than cream formulas. If you are experiencing skin conditions that include allergic reactions, eczema, or psoriasis, your doctor can prescribe Cutivate Ointment to reduce painful inflammation and calm any itching when other products have failed to work. Treatment should be started before you are scratching the affected area so hard that you cause a lesion that can potentially become infected.

The active ingredient in Cutivate Ointment is called Fluticasone Propionate. When applied as instructed, Cutivate Ointment is absorbed into your skin cells where it acts to reduce the release of inflammatory substances that can cause blood vessels to dilate and cause an inflammatory response.
