Dificid (Fidaxomicin)

There is an intestinal infection that causes diarrhea which is resistant to many types of antibiotics known as Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea. If it is strongly suspected that you have this condition, your physician will most likely recommend a prescription to buy Dificid (Fidaxomicin), a macrolide antibacterial medication.

Clostridium difficile (C. diff) in humans can cause infection by secreting toxins into your lower intestines or colon which then becomes inflamed. There are different strains of Clostridium difficile, some that cause mild diarrhea and some that cause fever, bloody diarrhea, and risk of a perforated intestine.

Fidaxomicin works by inhibiting the bacteria’s ability to manufacture proteins. Once stripped of this capability, bacteria can no longer reproduce. This action results in stabilized levels of the bacteria with an eventual decrease as long you take Dificid as directed by your doctor. If you stop taking Dificid too soon, or skip doses, the bacteria will gain the upper hand again and symptoms will reappear. You may experience diarrhea, a rash, nausea, or headache while taking Fidaxomicin. If these side effects persist or worsen you should contact your doctor.
