Solaraze Gel is a prescription strength topical gel that is applied to treat the rough areas of your skin caused by sun damage. These lesions are called actinic keratosis and although they are usually considered harmless, a small percentage can turn into a skin cancer known as squamous cell carcinoma. So don’t gamble with the odds, treat all areas affected by the sun’s damaging rays.

The main active ingredient of Solaraze Gel is Diclofenac, a non-steroidal anti inflammatory drug (NSAID). When applied as directed, Solaraze is absorbed into your skin cells and Diclofenac blocks an enzyme called cyclo-oxygenase 2 (COX-2) so it cannot manufacture prostaglandins and will reduce the formation of new blood vessels and the growth of new cells. This will shrink the damaged areas of skin and can even cause their disappearance altogether so your risk of skin cancer is decreased.

Over time, exposure to the sun’s ultraviolet rays will damage then break down your skin fibers, also known as elastin. Solaraze Gel Precautions

After you massage Solaraze Gel into the rough skin areas, wait for at least 10 minutes for it to dry before putting clothes on or other topical creams or lotions. Do not wrap, bandage, or apply heat to the treated area as this can cause increased side effects. Keep all medications out of children’s reach and never share them with anyone else.
